The Essential Oil of Scotch Pine has analgesic, antibacterial, anti fungal, antiseptic, and antiviral properties. As such it can be used in a bath to relieve symptoms of cold, as a decongestant, to ease arthritis, asthma, rheumatism and sinusitis. Combined with Epsom Salt which is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and when it is absorbed through the skin such as in a bath it draws toxins from the body, sedates the nervous system, reduces swelling and bruises and relaxes muscles. Pine Scotch Oil is non-toxic and non-irritant and therefore considered safe especially in a bath salt.

For a bath, fill the tub about halfway to the desired level. Take a handful of bath salts and pour them into the bath by holding your hand under the faucet, allowing the bath salts to fall with the water into the tub. While pouring the bath salts into the bath, their fragrance will be released into the steam, allowing for a very fragrant bath. Depending on their size, bath salts will dissolve quickly once in contact with hot water. Relax and enjoy your bath!
If you would like to use bath salts for exfoliation, simply take a small handful of fine-grain bath salts and add a tiny bit of water. Work the mixture into a paste and smooth it over your skin. You will be softer and smoother than you ever imagined!
